Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July last year Sothebys in London held the auction Masters of the Woodblock: Important Japanese Prints, which included the work The actor Iwai Hanshiro IV in the role of Yaegushi no Oroku performing in the play Keisei Kogane no Hakarime by Katsukawa Shunei. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 12,037.31). Other works by Katsukawa Shunei have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,394.03) in May 2019 for the work Two Sumo Wrestlers .
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Masters of the Woodblock: Important Japanese Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit The actor Iwai Hanshiro IV in the role of Yaegushi no Oroku performing in the play Keisei Kogane no Hakarime von Katsukawa Shunei zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 12.037,31) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunei haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.394,03) im Mai 2019 für die Arbeit Two Sumo Wrestlers beobachtet.
