The work The Actor Ichikawa Danjuro V by Katsukawa Shunei was sold in the From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints Online auction at Christies in London in June 2017. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,850.57). Admittedly, works by Katsukawa Shunei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Sumo Wrestlers in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,394.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Actor Ichikawa Danjuro V von Katsukawa Shunei wurde im Juni 2017 in der Auktion From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints Online bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.850,57) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Sumo Wrestlers im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.394,03).
