Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Eddie by Kate Greenaway for GBP 597.50 (€ 902.95). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kate Greenaway achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,449.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Eddie von Kate Greenaway für GBP 597,50 (€ 902,95) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kate Greenaway erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.365,00 (€ 12.449,63).
