Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Botanical Studies; And Decorative Designs by Kate Greenaway was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 329.00 (€ 465.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kate Greenaway achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,449.63).

Die Arbeit Botanical Studies; And Decorative Designs von Kate Greenaway kam im Dezember 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 329,00 (€ 465,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kate Greenaway erzielen.
