Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work A Collection Of 52 Drawings And Sketches, Some Of Which Double-Sided by Karl Pavlovich Briullov. The result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,969.78) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karl Pavlovich Briullov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for 'The Return of Pope Pius IX to Rome from Basillica Santa Maria Maggiore' in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 433,600.00 (€ 637,013.20).
