Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Clam Digger by Karl Knaths was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2009. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,544.09). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Knaths - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lilacs, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 34,000.00 (€ 23,500.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Clam Digger von Karl Knaths kam im September 2009 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.544,09) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Knaths mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lilacs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 34.000,00 (€ 23.500,14) versteigert wurde.
