The work The Origin of Species' by Karel Sirag was sold in the Pictures Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2007. It achieved a price of EUR 4,750.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58 %. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Karel Sirag; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Het Testen van het IJs' - Ice testing sold at auction in September 2007 with the realized price of EUR 5,625.00.

Die Arbeit The Origin of Species' von Karel Sirag wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 4.750,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58 %. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Karel Sirag; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 'Het Testen van het IJs' - Ice testing im September 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 5.625,00.
