The work Plum, Pine and Bamboo by Kano Toshun was worth GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,505.91) to a buyer in September 2010. This price was achieved in the auction Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kano Toshun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cranes and pine trees, which sold at auction in September 2002 for USD 19,120.00 (€ 19,354.19).
