In September 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese & Korean Art Including Arts of the Meiji Period, which included the work Gibbon grasping at the reflected moon and Sofu (Ch'cao-fu) leading his ox by Kaiho Yusho. The result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 22,057.20) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Other works by Kaiho Yusho have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2004 the work Birds and flowers, insects, landscapes, horses, Daoist sages and interiors was auctioned for USD 41,825.00 (€ 34,026.20).
