Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Starry Night - I, 2006 by Jyothi Basu was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2008. The price achieved of GBP 18,500.00 (€ 23,532.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jyothi Basu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Order Breaks from Within, which sold at auction in May 2009 for USD 80,500.00 (€ 56,987.12).
