In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction Miniatures, which included the work Alexander II, Emperor of Russia (1818-1881), facing right in black coat with gold-embroidered red collar, gold epaulettes, wearing the blue moiré silk sash and breast star of the Russian Order of St. Andrew by Ivan Winberg. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,016.71), 25% above the upper estimate. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.016,71) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
