In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work Nicholas I (1796-1855), Tsar of Russia 1825-1855, in red-bordered dark uniform, gold-embroidered red collar and gold epaulettes, wearing the blue moiré sash and breast-star of the Imperial Russian Order of St. Andrew, the breast-star of St. Vladimir by Ivan Winberg. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,550.84), 30% above the upper estimate. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.550,84) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
