In December 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Saint Judas Thaddeus by Jusepe de Ribera. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 399,000.00 (€ 471,571.30), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jusepe de Ribera achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Girl With A Tambourine (The Sense Of Hearing) in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 5,743,000.00 (€ 6,305,432.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Judas Thaddeus von Jusepe de Ribera zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 399.000,00 (€ 471.571,30) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jusepe de Ribera erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Girl With A Tambourine (The Sense Of Hearing) im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.743.000,00 (€ 6.305.432,17).
