The auction ended at the price of USD 150,000.00 (€ 124,688.28), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jusepe de Ribera achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Girl With A Tambourine (The Sense Of Hearing) in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 5,743,000.00 (€ 6,305,432.17).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit A Philosopher (Archimedes?) von Jusepe de Ribera kam im April 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 124.688,28) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jusepe de Ribera erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Girl With A Tambourine (The Sense Of Hearing) im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.743.000,00 (€ 6.305.432,17).
