Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist and Spanish Art, which included the work A visitor in the Harem by Julius Berger. The price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 28,586.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julius Berger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Entertaining The Pasha, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 42,000.00 (€ 62,246.65).
