Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries, which included the work Herding the sheep by Julius Jacobus van de Sande Bakhuyzen. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 1,600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 1,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius Jacobus van de Sande Bakhuyzen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A herdsman driving cattle through a heath landscape in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 52,659.00 (€ 25,274.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Herding the sheep von Julius Jacobus van de Sande Bakhuyzen zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 1.600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 1.750,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julius Jacobus van de Sande Bakhuyzen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A herdsman driving cattle through a heath landscape im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 52.659,00 (€ 25.274,58).
