Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Julius Caesar Ibbetson could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt auction, the work The Catching Of A Shark changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,434.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius Caesar Ibbetson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Ullswater, Cumberland, Taken From Gowbarrow Park; And View of Grasmere, Westmoreland, Taken From White Moss in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,493.30).
In der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt wechselte die Arbeit The Catching Of A Shark für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.434,56) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00.
