In October 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and Early British Paintings, which included the work Figures And Livestock In A Barn, Wales by Julius Caesar Ibbetson. The result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,647.85) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius Caesar Ibbetson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Ullswater, Cumberland, Taken From Gowbarrow Park; And View of Grasmere, Westmoreland, Taken From White Moss in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,493.30).
