In June 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Julio Ruelas (Mexican 1870-1907) by Julio Ruelas. The »bidding war« ended at USD 38,400.00 (€ 28,402.37), 28% above the upper estimate. Other works by Julio Ruelas have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 40,625.00 (€ 28,759.03) in May 2009 for the work without title.
