Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art Online, which included the work Portrait Of W. S. Maugham, Study Ii by Julio Larraz. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,720.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julio Larraz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bingham at Noon in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 326,500.00 (€ 227,114.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of W. S. Maugham, Study Ii von Julio Larraz zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.720,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julio Larraz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bingham at Noon im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 326.500,00 (€ 227.114,64).
