Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Phillips in New York held the auction Latin America, which included the work Naval Operations by Julio Larraz. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,581.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julio Larraz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bingham at Noon, which sold at auction in May 2011 for USD 326,500.00 (€ 227,114.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Latin America durch, in der auch die Arbeit Naval Operations von Julio Larraz zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 78.581,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Julio Larraz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bingham at Noon beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für USD 326.500,00 (€ 227.114,64) versteigert wurde.
