Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Castaway by Julio Larraz was sold in the Latin America: Modern Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. The price achieved of USD 93,750.00 (€ 78,794.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julio Larraz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bingham at Noon, which sold at auction in May 2011 for USD 326,500.00 (€ 227,114.64).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 78.794,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Julio Larraz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bingham at Noon beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für USD 326.500,00 (€ 227.114,64) versteigert wurde.
