In May 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th and 21st Century Art Evening Sale, which included the work Triplette (Triplet) by Julie Curtiss. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,375,000.00 (€ 251,055.85), 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Julie Curtiss; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Three Widows sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of USD 466,200.00 (€ 393,484.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Triplette (Triplet) von Julie Curtiss zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.375.000,00 (€ 251.055,85) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Julie Curtiss; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Three Widows im Juni 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 466.200,00 (€ 393.484,13).
