Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in Association with Poly Auction, which included the work Lateral Embrace II by Julie Curtiss. It changed hands for a price of HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 196,138.92) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julie Curtiss - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three Widows, which sold at auction in June 2021 for USD 466,200.00 (€ 393,484.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in Association with Poly Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lateral Embrace II von Julie Curtiss zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 1.764.000,00 (€ 196.138,92) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Julie Curtiss mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Three Widows beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für USD 466.200,00 (€ 393.484,13) versteigert wurde.
