Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Mother And Daughter by Julie Curtiss. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 1,500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 1,625,000.00 (€ 178,040.60). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julie Curtiss - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three Widows, which sold at auction in June 2021 for USD 466,200.00 (€ 393,484.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mother And Daughter von Julie Curtiss zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 1.500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 1.625.000,00 (€ 178.040,60) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Julie Curtiss mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Three Widows beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für USD 466.200,00 (€ 393.484,13) versteigert wurde.
