Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Trespassing, which included the work Escargot by Julie Curtiss. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,665.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julie Curtiss achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Widows in June 2021 with an auction result of USD 466,200.00 (€ 393,484.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Trespassing durch, in der auch die Arbeit Escargot von Julie Curtiss zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.665,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julie Curtiss erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Widows im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 466.200,00 (€ 393.484,13).
