Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The March Home by Julian Scott was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 16,866.70). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julian Scott - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Union Vanguard, which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 84,000.00 (€ 63,343.64).
