Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Canyon Of The Rio Colorado by Julian Walbridge Rix. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,140.78), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julian Walbridge Rix - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nightfall, Santa Clara Valley, which sold at auction in August 2019 for USD 21,325.00 (€ 19,405.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Canyon Of The Rio Colorado von Julian Walbridge Rix zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.140,78) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Julian Walbridge Rix mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nightfall, Santa Clara Valley beobachtet, die im August 2019 für USD 21.325,00 (€ 19.405,77) versteigert wurde.
