Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art Including Select Works From the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries, which included the work In the cantina by Jules Worms. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,125.00 (€ 9,864.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jules Worms have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French Breaking The News in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 67,000.00 (€ 43,037.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art Including Select Works From the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries durch, in der auch die Arbeit In the cantina von Jules Worms zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.125,00 (€ 9.864,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jules Worms auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit French Breaking The News im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 67.000,00 (€ 43.037,00).
