Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jules Lessore could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime Pictures auction, the work The crowded Clyde changed hands for GBP 597.50 (€ 896.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Other works by Jules Lessore have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2008 by the work The harbour at Honfleur, Normandy at GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,209.08).
