Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work L'Annonciation aux bergères by Jules Bastien-Lepage was worth GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,479.38) to a buyer in March 2009. This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Bastien-Lepage achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Sarah Bernhardt in October last year with an auction result of USD 2,280,000.00 (€ 2,295,147.98).

Die Arbeit L'Annonciation aux bergères von Jules Bastien-Lepage war einem Käufer im März 2009 GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.479,38) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jules Bastien-Lepage erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Sarah Bernhardt im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.280.000,00 (€ 2.295.147,98).
