Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jules Bastien-Lepage could be acquired at Sothebys in Paris in June 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century Paintings and Drawings auction, the work Autoportrait changed hands for EUR 16,250.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Bastien-Lepage achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Sarah Bernhardt in October last year with an auction result of USD 2,280,000.00 (€ 2,295,147.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jules Bastien-Lepage konnte im Juni 2008 bei Sothebys in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century Paintings and Drawings wechselte die Arbeit Autoportrait für EUR 16.250,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jules Bastien-Lepage erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Sarah Bernhardt im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.280.000,00 (€ 2.295.147,98).
