Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Naples, A View Of The Gulf Of Pozzuoli And The Port Of Baia by Juan Ruiz was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 65,788.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Juan Ruiz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Set Of Four Views Of Naples: Naples, A View Of The Bay Taken From Posillipo Looking Towards Mount Vesuvius; Naples, Seen From The Castel Dell'Ovo With The Riviera Di Chiaia And Posillipo Beyond; Naples, Seen From The Bay, With The Molo Grande In The Cen in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 506,500.00 (€ 578,764.
