In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work A Rocky Shore With Choppy Waters; A Capriccio View Of Naples With Vesuvius Erupting by Juan Ruiz. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,970.00 (€ 13,198.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Juan Ruiz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Set Of Four Views Of Naples: Naples, A View Of The Bay Taken From Posillipo Looking Towards Mount Vesuvius; Naples, Seen From The Castel Dell'Ovo With The Riviera Di Chiaia And Posillipo Beyond; Naples, Seen From The Bay, With The Molo Grande In The Cen in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 506,500.00 (€ 578,764

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.970,00 (€ 13.198,87) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Juan Ruiz erzielen.
