A top price for Juan Gris
In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller: 19th and 20th Century Art, Evening Sale, which included the work La table de musicien by Juan Gris. The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,812,500.00 (€ 27,260,068.55), 27% above the upper estimate. With this result, La table de musicien is even the most expensive work of art by Juan Gris that we have observed at auctions so far.
