Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Juan Gil García was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,938.00 (€ 4,364.25). Other works by Juan Gil García have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2010 by the work Naturaleza Muerta Con Anones at USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,084.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Juan Gil García im November 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.938,00 (€ 4.364,25) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Juan Gil García wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2010 die Arbeit Naturaleza Muerta Con Anones mit USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.084,73).
