In May 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Ecce Homo by Juan de Valdés Leal. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,584.86), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Juan de Valdés Leal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Visitation in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 142,533.58).

Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ecce Homo von Juan de Valdés Leal zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.584,86) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Juan de Valdés Leal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Visitation im Januar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.500,00 (€ 142.533,58).
