Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Polarized PH by JPW 3 was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,254.37). Admittedly, works by JPW 3 have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 9 in April 2017 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,875.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Polarized PH von JPW 3 im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.890,00 (€ 2.254,37) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von JPW 3 auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 9 im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.875,17).
