Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Australian At The Bar by Joy Hester for AUD 7,200.00 (€ 4,233.02). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Sothebys in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 7,500.00 – 9,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Joy Hester have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Girl with Pleated Dress in April 2005 with an auction result of AUD 69,310.00 (€ 42,029.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Australian At The Bar von Joy Hester für AUD 7.200,00 (€ 4.233,02) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 7.500,00 – 9.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joy Hester auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Girl with Pleated Dress im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 69.310,00 (€ 42.029,15).
