Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The beach at Ventnor, Isle of Wight by Joshua Cristall was sold in the BRITISH ART ON PAPER auction at Christies in London in June 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,091.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joshua Cristall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Barking timber, which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,349.07).

Die Arbeit The beach at Ventnor, Isle of Wight von Joshua Cristall wurde im Juni 2003 in der Auktion BRITISH ART ON PAPER bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.151,00 (€ 3.091,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Joshua Cristall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Barking timber beobachtet, die im Juli 2012 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.349,07) versteigert wurde.
