The work A shepherd seated overlooking a deep valley by Joshua Cristall was sold in the The Nicolette Wernick Collection British Watercolours and Paintings (1800-1950) auction at Christies in London in June 2010. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,864.37) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joshua Cristall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Barking timber, which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,349.07).
