Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,752.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Schranz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Of Corfu From The Island Of Vido in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 18,500.00 (€ 25,138.36).

Die Arbeit View Of The Fleet At Anchor Off Corfu, Taken From The Island Of Vido von Joseph Schranz kam im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.752,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
