Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Pictures, which included the work Assorted summer flowers in a vase on a stone ledge by Joseph Nigg. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,439.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Nigg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still life with roses, forget-me-not, poppies, hyacinths, butterflies and a bird's nest in December 2015 with an auction result of SEK 400,000.00 (€ 43,576.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Assorted summer flowers in a vase on a stone ledge von Joseph Nigg zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.112,50 (€ 6.439,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Nigg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still life with roses, forget-me-not, poppies, hyacinths, butterflies and a bird's nest im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 400.000,00 (€ 43.576,76).
