Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original, which included the work The oak room at Broughton Castle near Banbury, Oxfordshire by Joseph Nash. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,528.27) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Nash achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Chambre De La Reine Marie-Amélie À Claremont in September 2015 with an auction result of EUR 75,000.00.
