Artwork auctioned at five times the pre-set estimate
When the work Oil Tanker Jessica by Joseph Marr was auctioned at VAN HAM in June 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 800.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at EUR 4,463.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Joseph Marr; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot FamilyTv 4 sold at auction in June 2015 with the realized price of EUR 5,950.00.
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Oil Tanker Jessica von Joseph Marr im Juni 2015 bei VAN HAM versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 800,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 4.463,00 mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Joseph Marr; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit FamilyTv 4 im Juni 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 5.950,00.
