Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2002 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work A young peasant family disporting with a billy goat in a farmyard by Johann Conrad Seekatz. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,812.50 (€ 14,056.28). Admittedly, works by Johann Conrad Seekatz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. in September 2006 with an auction result of CHF 177,500.00 (€ 111,883.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young peasant family disporting with a billy goat in a farmyard von Johann Conrad Seekatz zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.812,50 (€ 14.056,28) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johann Conrad Seekatz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 177.500,00 (€ 111.883,62).
