Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Landscape With Travellers At Night Resting By A Roadside Fire; A Landscape With Travellers Outside A Town by Johann Conrad Seekatz was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,707.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Conrad Seekatz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. in September 2006 with an auction result of CHF 177,500.00 (€ 111,883.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Landscape With Travellers At Night Resting By A Roadside Fire; A Landscape With Travellers Outside A Town von Johann Conrad Seekatz kam im Dezember 2012 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.707,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Conrad Seekatz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 177.500,00 (€ 111.883,62).
