Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of M'lle 'E' by Joseph Kleitsch was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,750.00 (€ 10,805.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Kleitsch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Park Avenue, Old Laguna in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 336,000.00 (€ 375,083.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait of M'lle 'E' von Joseph Kleitsch im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.750,00 (€ 10.805,08) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Kleitsch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Park Avenue, Old Laguna im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 336.000,00 (€ 375.083,72).
