Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Including Three Renaissance Masterworks from Chatsworth, which included the work Saint Martin Dividing His Cloak by Joseph Heintz the Elder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 90,337.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Heintz the Elder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diana And Callisto in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 687,567.10).
