Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A kneeling girl placing a lamp on the Ganges by Joseph Gott was sold in the Old Masters Paintings & Sculpture auction at Christies in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,346.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Gott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A White Marble Group Of Young Girl, Probably Miss Dames Embracing A Maltese Dog in June last year with an auction result of USD 17,000.00 (€ 16,238.42).

Die Arbeit A kneeling girl placing a lamp on the Ganges von Joseph Gott wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Old Masters Paintings & Sculpture bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.346,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Gott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A White Marble Group Of Young Girl, Probably Miss Dames Embracing A Maltese Dog im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.000,00 (€ 16.238,42).
